Until relatively recently, our view of the transport system has been dominated by real time and forward planning, and the history of transport operations was only available to a limited number of specialists. However, now that the bus and rail industry have made available fine-grained operational data across the country, it has become possible to build large scale long-term bus and rail performance archives and make them easily available.
TransportAPI has now built a national scale bus and rail archiving infrastructure to power our Bus performance and Rail performances managed services. This data is available at API for apps, screens and analytics to consume and display, and it is also available to browse in our web applications Rail Performance Explorer and Bus Corridor Performance Explorer. If you would like to try out the data then sign up for Transport API and drop us a line letting us know what application you have in mind via our contact page.

TransportAPI is the largest UK aggregator of public transport data at API delivering a billion transport data requests per month to customers such as First Group, Heathrow, Northern Trains and South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. We are partnering with these and many other organisations to deliver the data needed to power the applications that grow ridership, drive modal shift and deliver on service quality guarantees.

If you are attending Transport Ticketing Global next week on the 4th/ 5th of March at Olympia in London, please come and visit us on stand G62 next to the catering point on the left hand side of the show floor in the direction you enter.
